The Greenmoor Centre is Sheffield and District Battalion’s residential centre for training and outdoor activities. The accommodation is provided in an old chapel established in 1812. It has been altered and renovated to a high standard.
The village of Greenmoor stands on the Yorkshire Pennines and commands a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside, yet is within 10 miles from the towns of Barnsley and Rotherham and the city of Sheffield.
The accommodation sleeps 28 people. The Centre comprises of a heated two floor building with a usable basement The design is adaptable and can be used for single sex or mixed groups and includes disabled access. Onsite parking is adjacent to the building and can easily accommodates three cars or two minibuses. The Centre is ideal for Youth groups, uniformed youth organisations and other community groups and faith groups.
The basement includes a separate outdoor entry with games room, dart board, table tennis and pool table and air hockey.
The front porch gives entrance to a 6 x 9 metres activity room. A rear lobby gives access to a staff/disabled bedroom, with suitable adjoining toilet and shower facilities, a dining room and separate well equipped kitchen completes the layout of the ground floor.
On the first floor, three dormitories sleep 10, 8 and 6 and a staff room that sleeps 2. The sleeping accommodation consists of bunk beds and storage boxes. We do not provide any bedding or pillows. Our Guest usually bring a sleeping bag.
A three sink washroom is complimented with three separate showers and sinks and three separate toilets.
